“My children are happy with the new clothes they have that have kept them warm and they are so proud to wear. My daughter loves her big girl bed!"

Amber is a proud Mum of two and works as a fashion retail assistant. When Amber applied for a grant, her financial situation was tough.

Amber reflects, “I had to demote myself from management to sales assistant which saw a huge decrease in wages and my hours. I was struggling with debt which was out of control. I was finding it hard paying priority bills such as water, gas and electric.”

When her financial situation severely impacted Amber’s mental health, she knew she needed to reach out for help.  “I was looking for clothing for both children, a bed and mattress for my daughter, who had outgrown her bed, and clothes storage.”

How Amber's grant helped

After receiving her grant Amber felt relieved that the children had everything they needed. “My children are happy with the new clothes they have that have kept them warm and they are so proud to wear. My daughter loves her big girl bed! The wardrobe and drawers have allowed the children to be able to keep their clothes neat and tidy whilst also being protected. Overall the grant has impacted my children’s lives brilliantly.

Amber's advice to other parents:

“If you’re thinking of applying, go for it. If I hadn’t took the leap and applied I would have still struggled to find my children clothes, a bed etc. I would have found myself drowning in more debt and my mental health declining. Apply, it really is life changing and FTCT are here to help.”
