Our impact Your Stories Baby essentials for Esther, Essie and Joseph Juggling work and family life is never easy, but when you have the added responsibility of caring for a child with special educational needs, it can really tip the balance. That's when Esther took the brave step to reach out for help. Here, Esther shares her story. "I’m a single parent to 2 kids and one of my child has autism. It has been a big struggle financially juggling both work life and mum life. I had to leave my job due to now being a full-time carer for my daughter." "I’m dyslexic and I never got the help that I needed. When I picked up the sign regarding my daughter, I knew I didn’t want her to go through the same thing that I did and experience the same things that I did, because the system failed me." "I found the FTCT through Google. I used to work in high-street retail, for brands like Office, Accessorize and Poundland. At the time, I needed some clothing for both kids and also a highchair and pushchair for my daughter." "Learning disabilities have become a very huge passion and something very dear to my heart. Regardless of whether or not your child has a disability, families should get the opportunity to get the extra help they need."
