“We are forever grateful for the funding. My daughter is now able to do her online homework with ease." - Mos

Mos is proud Dad to his teenage daughter Mya. When the family needed help with some household appliances, they reached out to FTCT. Mos used to work UK Commercial Textile Laundry sector and used that past employment to apply.

Here, Mos kindly shares his experience of applying for an FTCT grant.

“When I first applied to FTCT, I was in full time employment, but unfortunately, the rise in cost of living made it very difficult to afford essential items and I definitely didn't have the disposal income to afford other necessities such a washing machine.”

“I found FTCT through Google and even though I no longer worked in the sector, I used my past work in the laundry sector to apply for help with a washing machine."

“Mya really needed a laptop to do her homework. She was preparing for mock GCSE’s and didn’t have access to one at home. Our washing machine had also seen better days (20 plus old) mouldy and could not complete a washing cycle.”

“We are forever grateful for the funding."

"My daughter (who suffers from a complex condition of epilepsy) is now able to do her online homework with ease. Without a laptop, accessing homework was causing her frustration which at times triggers seizure episodes. Our clothes are properly washed and we do not have to keep restarting the old washing machine.”

“Right from submitting the application, the team were amazingly helpful, courteous and sympathetic. If I was unsure about something, I reached-out for clarity, they were more than happy to help.”

To any parent thinking of applying, Mos has some simple advice, “Dear parent, do not hesitate to apply. You’ve got nothing to lose.”
