Superheroes from the Oasis store in Farnham, FTCT’s Director Anna and her dad, John, took on the ultimate fun run challenge yesterday at a sunny Regent’s Park.

Dressed to impress with bling and glitter, Sophie (Oasis Farnham store manager) and Tasha (assistant store manager) took on their very first 5k run with the fun and enthusiasm this great event deserves. Running alongside thousands of other Supermen and Wonder Women, the morning featured a disco warm-up, best dressed super-dog and a fantastic atmosphere. Sophie said; "It was such a great way to spend a couple of hours and we both came away with a ‘feel good’ factor, having spent the day with lots of other Superheroes fundraising for other charities.”

As this management duo spend lots of time together at work, how was running together? “It was great to do something really positive with a work colleague – often at work, we just talk about the business. When we got back to Oasis today, Tash and I were talking about the run with our work colleagues who were all so supportive.”

Anna and dad, John, 83, dressed as caped superheroes, took on the challenge at a steadier pace and completed the race with a flourish to pick up their medals at the finish line. John said; ‘It was a lovely opportunity to support the work of FTCT, along with so many others supporting good causes. It was a real privilege to take part – thank you. I’ll definitely be back next year!’

There’s still time to donate to Sophie and Tasha

Our fabulous caped crusaders have been raising funds for FTCT. Sophie and Tasha have smashed their fundraising target and raised over £200 and still counting! If you’re looking to support a good cause this week, please donate to their JustGiving page and help them raise even more.

Helping families in the industryOasis_store_workers_medals

FTCT provides grants to help children whose families work in UK fashion and textiles who are struggling financially, or for children who have additional needs. These grants allow children to benefit from anything from a course of therapy to sensory toys. We’ve helped hundreds of children this year; just take a look at the stories of some of our families.

Sophie added, “It’s great to be fundraising for a charity that’s so relevant to Oasis employees. Everyone at Oasis will know someone who could benefit from FTCT’s grants.”
