Who can apply?
To apply for a grant, you must have worked for an eligible UK fashion and textile employer for 1+ years, within the last nine years.

Please read through the information below and on the following pages, to make sure we are the right charity for your family before you apply.

Our grants are aimed at families who are experiencing financial hardship and cannot afford the cost of the items their child needs.

Parents often apply when:
  • There’s been a loss or reduction of income
  • You’re in arrears with bills or debt
  • You’re coping with ill health, long‑term illness or caring responsibilities
  • You’ve recently been made redundant or are off work sick
  • You’ve experienced bereavement, separation, or changes in family circumstances
  • You’re a kinship carer facing financial pressure

Not sure if your role counts?

Our charity supports the children of people in the UK fashion and textiles industry. This includes companies working with clothing, footwear, soft furnishings or fabrics.

If you have never worked for a UK fashion or textile company, unfortunately we won't be the right charity for you. Please try this list of other charities who might be able to help your family.

Items we fund

Sensory Support For Everyday Life

FTCT grants fund items to suit each child’s individual needs, such as:

  • Sensory items for emotional regulation, e.g. weighted blankets, light tubes, fidget toys.
  • Adaptive/Sensory clothing
  • SEN adapted iPad or computer
  • Speech and language resources
  • Physical exercise equipment (e.g. trampolines, wobble boards, etc.)
  • Adaptive children's bedroom furniture
  • Mobility aids, e.g. pushchairs, strollers, trikes and bicycles

Therapeutic Support

In some cases, FTCT can fund therapy sessions for neurodivergent children, when support is either not available on the NHS or the provision is not enough to suit a child’s needs.

Therapy funding includes:

  • Speech and language therapy
  • Play, art, or music therapy
  • Physiotherapy
  • Occupational therapy for sensory processing and daily skills

Unfortunately we cannot fund the cost of assessments.
