Yesterday was a huge day for the team here at FTCT. Our first fundraising event of the Autumn, the Drapers Independents Awards saw us raise a £2,600, which is just incredible.

Guests included companies from across the UK and Ireland’s Independent Fashion Retail Industry. As charity partner for the event, we hosted a charity raffle with three luxury prizes, generously donated by our sponsors Waitrose, Pure London and Just Around The Corner and Firmdale Hotels.

How the funds will help

Here at the Fashion & Textile Children’s Trust we believe that every child should have the chance to thrive. Our grants fund a variety of essential items and each is tailored to suit the family and child's individual needs. The funds raised at yesterday's event will immediately be used to fund our grants.

£2,600 is the equivalent of:

  • 15 school uniform bundles, helping children to be school ready this autumn
    or
  • 10 beds, helping children to get a restful night sleep
    or
  • 6 essential appliances to give children clean clothes and hot meals
    or
  • 1 specialist mobility aid to help a child like Ned, gain the independence he deserves

Thank you to our volunteers

Our incredible volunteers, LaToyah, Martha, Rhia, Grace, Millie and Emily (pictured above) gave their time to host a ping pong champagne draw and sell raffle tickets to guests at their table. It was non-stop for the three hour event and we couldn't have done it without them.

We hope all the raffle winners enjoy their prizes and thank everyone else for their huge generosity.

We would also like to mention a huge thank you to Drapers editor Jill Geoghegan and her team for their ongoing support. It is a huge honor to be Drapers' charity partner and we are already excited to be back at the Drapers Main Awards in November.
