Our Story News and Blog How an FTCT Grant Helped a Family With Mobility Challenges For families caring for a child with mobility needs, everyday activities like getting out and about can sometimes be challenging. When Lux’s family needed additional support to help with mobility and comfort during outings, they reached out to FTCT for help. Through an FTCT grant, the family was able to access a specialist mobility wagon designed to support Lux’s needs. The wagon has made it much easier for the family to spend time outdoors together, helping Lux travel comfortably while allowing the family to enjoy trips and daily outings that might otherwise have been difficult. Here, Georga shares the story of how FTCT funding a FableKids Mobility wagon for her family has been completely life-changing. "My son Lux is nearly 3 but he really struggles with walking. He is physically capable of walking, but gets easily overwhelmed when we are out and about." "He would also refuse a pushchair which I found extremely difficult as he was a big boy, he just wanted picking up everywhere." "Now we have the wagon, it has changed our lives dramatically. I went on a walk with him for the first time in around a year, it was very emotional and overwhelming for me to of been able to do this. He gets so excited to get in his wagon and my life is now a lot easier!" Practical equipment like this can make a meaningful difference to families raising children with additional needs. With the right support in place, everyday experiences, from walks in the park to family days out, can become more accessible and enjoyable again.
