Our grants can support families where a parent or carer is suffering from long term physical or mental health conditions and income has been reduced as a result. We can help by funding essential items to support the children in the family.

Grants can support parents or carers who have been diagnosed with a physical or mental condition which has affected their ability to work in a number of ways:

  • Unable to work
  • Signed off sick long term
  • Reduced hours

Our grants can help families in these situations when household income is limited and the family may be struggling to provide essential items the children need.

To apply for an FTCT grant, one parent must work OR have recently worked in the UK fashion and textile industry, for at least one year within the last nine years.

If you're sure you have never worked in UK fashion or textiles, unfortunately we won't be the right charity for you. Try this list of other charities who might be able to help your family.

Not sure?

If you're not sure your job qualifies as fashion and textiles it’s always better to check with us first, email our grants team.

Nyall's Story

"I was forced to leave employment due to disability, a complex cocktail of back conditions: spondyloptosis, arthritis and nerve damage. We were online, looking for any financial support and we stumbled across FTCT. I’d worked for 12 years as a graphic designer in fashion, so decided to apply.”
